Sealants

    IMPCO manufactures a complete line of anaerobic and thermoset sealants for filling micro and macro porosity in metal castings, powdered metal parts, electrical connectors and ceramic parts. Sealants are formulated using methacrylate and polyester monomers that cure to form a solid thermoplastic resin that is resistant to strong acids, strong alkalies, solvents, gasoline, refrigerants, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluids, power steering fluids, hydraulic oils and others.

    All of our sealant formulations are easy to use, stable and adaptable to a wide range of impregnation methods. They also meet the latest U.S. and military, industrial, and other federal, state and local government standards as well as most International standards. All Impco sealants are in full compliance with RoHS and REACH regulations.

    Impregnating Sealants for Metal Castings
    IMPCO sealants offer the ability to impregnate metal castings and even large metal castings.  We offer two specific classes of sealants that can be used for impregnating metal castings.  For higher temperature applications, Impco's RC80 Series gives excellent results.  Where enhanced washing with great sealing results are desired, Impco's PowRseal materials are excellent choices.

    Impregnating Sealantsfor Powdered or Sintered Metal Parts

    IMPCO offers two sealants for Powdered Metal parts from the PoreSeal family of materials..  They provide the characteristics needed to assure your parts receive complete fills and proof of cure.  Parts impregnated with IMPCO Powder Metal Impregnating Resins exhibit excellent machinability, plate and paint without salt-out and fill and cure completely.

     


    Brush-On-Sealants

    AlumiSeal™
    AlumiSeal™ is a high-performance brush-on methacrylate compound for sealing porosity in aluminum parts and welds that will contain liquids or gases under pressure. Like all Impco Brush-On-Sealants, it is self-curing and cleans up with water.  AlumuiSeal is designed specifically for aluminum parts.

     

    CastSeal™
    CastSeal™ is a high-performance methacrylate formulated for sealing porosity in cast iron parts that will contain liquid or gas under pressure. It's low viscosity, no VOC formulation and cleans up with only water.

    WeldSeal™
    WeldSeal™ is a high-performance methacrylate formulated for sealing porosity in welds that will contain liquid or gas under pressure. It is formulated specifcally to penetrate weld porosity, cracks, fillet welds and inclusions. It can be painted.  Like all Brush-On-Sealants, WeldSeal has not VOC's and celan up with water.

    Macro Porosity Sealing Resins

    IMSEAL-800 macro-porosity resin is a low viscosity modified two-part epoxy solution for filling blowholes, cracks, surface defects and macro-porosity on iron, aluminum, brass, and other metal castings and parts. It is designed to fill gross visible porosity in various substrates.  It's two part chemistry allows it to cure on many substtrates and has excellent chemical and heat resistance.

    PolyFlex 140

    Specially formulated to maintain flexablity when cured, PolyFlex 140 is the perfect anaerobic sealant for electronic connectors. Its flexable nature will maintain a seal.

     

    POLYFLEX FR
    IMPCO introduces Polyflex FR, the first true fire-resistant impregnation resin available for sealing electronic connectors, wires, and wiring assemblies against corrosion.

     

    Sealants for Ceramic Parts
    A water washable polyester-methacrylate resin with excellent sealing capabilities. Provides for a slightly higher temperature and chemical resistance and is good for all metals.

    Micro-Cracked Nickel/Chrome

    A water washable polyester-methacrylate resin with excellent sealing capabilities. Provides for a slightly higher temperature and chemical resistance and is good for all metals.
