| IMPCO RC-80 Resin Effectively Seals Porosity in all Metals
IMPCO RC-80 Resin, manufactured by IMPCO, Inc., Providence, RI, is a specially formulated, 100% solids, styrene-free polyester resin designed for the impregnation of all types of micro- and macro-porous, ferrous and non-ferrous alloy parts and castings. RC-80 is extremely stable and highly resistant to local contamination, easy to handle and has an extended pot life.
IMPCO RC-80’s balanced viscosity and high polarity ensure deep penetration, low materials consumption and remarkable retention. RC-80 will not bleed out of voids during polymerization which produces a virtually indestructible seal. The resin cures quickly at temperatures as low as 200º to 205ºF (93º to 95ºC) with parts ready for testing or use immediately afterward. Cured RC-80 is resistant to fuels, oils, alcohols, glycols, solvent salts, mild acids, and freons.
IMPCO RC-80 Resin has the excellent dielectrical properties inherent in most synthetic polyester resins. It is uninhibited by copper base alloys and designed to be flexible to extreme thermal and physical shocks without rupturing. RC-80 can withstand temperatures from approximately -65ºF to +1400ºF (-55ºC to 760ºC) depending on the impregnation application.
RC-80 will not discolor, distort or affect established critical tolerances of machined parts and meets all current military standards for impregnants. The U.S. Department of Transportation does not require any special markings or labels on shipments of RC-80 due to its high flash point. IMPCO manufactures RC-80 in the United States for assured delivery and low cost. Back |
